Job description:
This is manual work in the performance of semi-skilled
farm tasks of a physically demanding nature.
Work of this class involves responsibility for
performing manual farm work which requires a moderately
high degree of manipulative skill. Work ordinarily
includes the operation of tractors and other farm
equipment. It is performed under the direction of an
employee of a higher grade, but constant supervision is
not required because of the farm experience of employees
in this class. Work is reviewed intermittently while in
progress and upon completion for compliance with
instructions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works as semi-skilled farm laborer on an institutional
farm; performs duties such as plowing, harrowing,
cultivating, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting
farm crops on assigned plots and acreage.
Operates a cotton picker, combine, tractor, moving and
spraying equipment, chain saws, carry all, front end
loader, milking machines, and other common and
specialized equipment used in general farming
operations.
Cares for livestock and poultry, including the cleaning,
feeding, weighing, and medication of animals; checks
animals for sickness and other disorders.
Mixes soil, sand, and fertilizers according to
specifications; prepares insecticide solutions and
operates spray equipment on assigned plots and acreage
for insect control.
Changes oil, greases, and makes limited repairs to farm
equipment and machinery; assists in the general repair
and maintenance of farm buildings.
Performs related work as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of eighth school grade; and some experience
in farming including the operation of tractors and other
farm equipment; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Some knowledge of practical farm operations, such as
plowing, planting, irrigation, fertilizing, cultivating,
and harvesting of crops.
Some knowledge of the care of livestock and poultry.
Some knowledge of the use and service requirements of
plows, cultivators, milking machines, combines,
tractors, planters, sprayers, and other farm equipment
and implements.
Ability to care for all farm animals and maintain
sanitary living quarters for animals.
Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and
written instructions.
Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to variable
weather conditions.
Skill in the use and care of equipment used in farming.

* Have to take delivery notes from the supplier and
after supplying it to the customer, make a receipt of
it.
* Will have to check his vehicle’s brakes, controls,

* Must be punctual and stringent about timings and
make no delay in deliveries.
* Must be prepared to work in any traffic, weather
and timing according to his employer’s business needs.
* He should generously assist in loading and
unloading goods onto/off his vehicle.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under direction, performs a variety of shipping/receiving, stocking activities; stores and distributes supplies and equipment; maintains inventory and stock records; and perform related work as required.
SCOPE:
The Storekeeper performs duties to support shipping and receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, and overseeing storage of surplus inventory and property for the District.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
1. Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
2. Makes intra- and inter-campus deliveries of requested surplus office furniture and merchandise; maintains records of all deliveries.
3. Fills supply requisitions; assists buyer to order adequate merchandise and supplies; delivers orders to faculty and staff.
4. Receives, stores, tags and tracks surplus property; prepares property lists for items to be sold at auction.
5. Receives and stores documents and confidential files; maintains record of approved document and confidential file destruction.
6. Ships cancelled and damaged items back to vendors as appropriate.
